Representative atlas location; never a patient or electrode coordinate.

This MRI crosshair shows a representative point in the named region. The MNI305 contact coordinate is in a different template and is not projected onto these sections.

Click a structure on any MRI slice to highlight it here and in the 3D brain. The crosshair marks the clicked atlas voxel.

Choose a deepest gray matter region and an outer gray matter region to find existing example leads. This atlas cannot test whether a new path is anatomically feasible.

Highlighted anatomy
i3D paths and contact centers are illustrative in fsaverage MNI305. MRI sections show a separate CerebrA MNI2009c template. Neither is patient imaging or a surgical plan.

Model notes

What you are looking at

FreeSurfer shows the supplied fsaverage cortical surface, Desikan–Killiany labels, aseg deep structures, and generated illustrative paths and contacts. The Atlas regions tab highlights fsaverage labels directly. This 3D model uses MNI305 coordinates. Its examples include stereo EEG (SEEG) leads, a laser fiber, hippocampal neuromodulation leads, CM markers, and bilateral ANT and pulvinar nucleus reference shapes.

CerebrA atlas shows CerebrA parcels and a population-average T1 in the symmetric MNI-ICBM152 2009c space. Its SEEG examples view highlights named regions corresponding to supplied FreeSurfer leads and gray matter contacts; it does not draw those contacts or paths at unregistered CerebrA positions. The MRI crosshair is a representative CerebrA voxel, not a contact location. The two coordinate readouts must not be compared as aligned positions.

Internal, external, and medial views group whole atlas parcels for teaching. Some broad parcels span more than one surface. CerebrA ventricle labels are excluded from region highlights; deep anatomy layers can be shown separately in the FreeSurfer view. These groups are not lead endpoint definitions or surgical corridors.

Thalamic nuclei are derived from the 1 mm voxelized Morel atlas in its own MNI152 template. ANT combines anterior dorsal (AD), anterior medial (AM), and anterior ventral (AV); CM is the centromedian nucleus; pulvinar combines PuA, PuI, PuL, and PuM. PuM can be highlighted separately. Their native coordinates are overlaid approximately on the MNI305 brain and MNI2009c MRI, without inter-template registration. The example leads and markers have not been localized to these nuclei. The masks are teaching references, not patient-specific targets or treatment volumes.

Both models represent template anatomy. No patient lesion, vessel map, functional boundary, or white matter tract is loaded. The 3D paths, contacts, ablation capsule, and deep markers are illustrations, not validated clinical trajectories, implant positions, or treatment volumes.

Patient-specific stereo EEG and surgical planning require individualized imaging, registration, hypothesis, and multidisciplinary review. This explorer cannot evaluate trajectory safety or distance to vessels and eloquent tissue.
