Long Term EEG Reading
Start reading long term EEGs between 7–8 AM; prepare preliminary reports before rounding (~9–10 AM).
ICU Studies
Begin with ICU studies. NSICU fellow provides names via EPIC chat for priority readings.
Rounding
Round with the attending between 9–10 AM; finalize reports and communicate with the primary team.

Description
EEG Reading
Read inpatient routine & baseline EEGs up to 5 PM (co-signed by the attending) and leave preliminary reports. Review all long-term EEGs (including EMU patients) and add interim progress notes if changes occur. Finalize discontinued EEGs during morning rounds and sign out patients needing follow-up at night.

Follow-Up
After clinics, EEGs must be followed up and sign-outs emailed to the on-call attending and fellow. During weekdays, only patients needing close monitoring are signed out; on weekends, all EMU and ICU EEGs are signed out.
EMU Elective Admissions & Consults

Admissions
Write H&P, place orders, and sign out to on-call residents. Assist with H&P if a dedicated resident is assigned. Confirm admissions with Nadia Gabriel; if after 5 PM, pend a preliminary H&P and detailed sign-out.
Consults
NSICU and General Neurology teams may request consults. Fellows see patients, write notes, and staff with the attending. When a rotating resident is present, consults are divided at the fellow's discretion.

Rotation Focus
Focus on neonatal and early childhood EEGs, pediatric epilepsy syndromes, genetics, metabolic disorders, ketogenic diet, and pre-surgical evaluation. Discuss the schedule with the pediatric attending.
